During the summer, our events team will be offering a number of College 101 sessions on various subjects to help you succeed in class and be better prepared for college after you graduate from high school. Taught by experts from around NYU, the College 101 sessions are highly recommended for anyone who wants to get ahead of the college game.
Unless otherwise noted, College 101 meets on the 3rd Floor of Palladium Hall just one block away from your residential hall. To attend College 101, sign up when you receive your event RSVP email.

College 101: American Classroom and Culture
July 11, 5:30-6:30 pm
International students! This workshop is for you! Learn what makes the American college classroom different from what you may be used to back home and find out how you can translate the unspoken codes and expectations in US academics. Experts from the American Language Institute will answer your questions and provide you with tips to help you master your studies.
College 101: Time Management

Every year, students say the most important thing they learned while at NYU was time management. Really. It may not seem like a killer skill, but mastering it is key to doing all those things you want to like getting a good grade, attending events, going out with friends, and…oh yeah, that whole “eating and sleeping” thing. NYU student tutors will give you tips and wisdom.

College 101: Library Research

Wikipedia is fine and good for trivia nights or settling bets with friends, but as a research tool in college it doesn’t quite cut it. Libraries may seem old school, but there are a lot of different resources there to help you become a research scholar and blow professors away with your papers and projects. NYU research librarians will give you tips of the trade and what NYU’s library system has to offer for your final paper and exams.
